Bujold and Card dominated the hardcovers in their second month on the list, while Lackey and Dixon had the best selling newcomer (to go with their top place in the paperbacks). ''Harry Potter'' books finally made their way onto our list, for both hardcovers and trade paperbacks There was no new runner-up. We had 72 nominees, down from 88 last month.
The first seven paperbacks were very close in points, with a near-tie for #1 as well as two genuine ties! Number 8, Ender's Game, is back on the list after lo these many years. New runner-up: The Gilded Chain by Dave Duncan (Avon Eos) . There were 95 nominees, to last month's 98.
In trade paperbacks, Holly Lisle was well ahead, but Russell's The Sparrow held onto its second place. We had 68 nominees, for the third month running.
Back as a paperback, SW: Vision of the Future took a strong lead for the media-related books. We had 26 nominees, down from 37.
For gaming-related, the new ''DragonLance'' stayed on top, with almost twice the points of the #2 book. New runner-up World of Darkness: Lasombra by Richard Dansky (White Wolf). Nominees: 20, up from 17.
