George R.R. Martin held onto his lead in hardcovers. New runner-up: Nimisha’s Ship by Anne McCaffrey (Del Rey). There were 76 nominees, to last month's 83.
For paperbacks, Raymond E. Feist has a strong lead. Figures were close for most of the others, with two ties. There was no new runner-up. Nominees: 114, up from 108.
Mary Doria Russell now has two titles on the trade paperback list. Once again, figures were close, so we had a four-way tie. The new runner-up is Riddlemaster: The Complete Trilogy by Patricia A. McKillip. We had 69 nominees, to 67 last month.
The latest ‘‘Babylon 5’’ dominates the media list. New runner-up: Babylon 5: Season 5: The Wheel of Fire by Jane Killick (Del Rey). We had 44 nominees, down from 53.
All the gaming-related titles are new this time. Nominees: 20, down from 23.
