The Carl Brandon Society presents two awards: the Parallax Award, for "works of fiction created by a person of color", and the Kindred Award, for works of speculative fiction "dealing with issues of race and ethnicity". Awards for books of 2006 and 2007 were announced in January 2010. Consideration of awards for books of 2008 and 2009 is still underway.
