All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.
Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.

Two recently published UK fantasy novels are selling well on Amazon UK -- Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London -- titled Midnight Riot in the US (here's Faren Miller's review) -- and Joe Abercrombie's The Heroes (both Gollancz), ranking #16 and #22 respectively when checked today.
Also remarkable is James Lovegrove's Age of Odin (Solaris), placing #33 on the New York Times extended mass market paperback list. This is the first time any Solaris title has appeared on any of the lists compiled here.
P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast's Awakened is still #1 at USA Today, and it debuts in 10th place on Los Angeles Times's fiction hardcover list this week.
