All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.

Dean Koontz' Frankenstein: Lost Souls (Bantam), fourth novel in his Frankenstein series, debuts notably on print lists this week, ranking as high as #7 on the fiction hardcover lists at New York Times and Publishers Weekly.

Justin Cronin's The Passage slips a bit on four print lists, and debuts on the fifth this week, ranking #2 at LA Times.

Stephenie Meyer's The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is still #1 at USA Today.

Other debuts this week are Jacqueline Carey's Naamah's Curse (Grand Central), #33 on the NYT list, and Jennifer Egan's A Visit from the Goon Squad (Knopf), #11 on the LAT list.
