All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.
Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.

David Weber's A Mighty Fortress (Tor), fourth book in his "Safehold" series, debuts notably this week, ranking #9 on both the New York Times and Publishers Weekly hardcover fiction lists. It's #59 on the combined USA Today list.
In paperback the significant debut this week is the trade reprint of Stephenie Meyer's The Host (Back Bay Books), ranking #5 on the NYT and PW lists.
And poised to hit lists in a couple weeks is Charlaine Harris' Dead in the Family, the next Sookie Stackhouse novel, due for publication May 5th. It ranks #1 today on Amazon.com.
