All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.

Audrey Niffenegger's Her Fearful Symmetry (Scribner) is the major debut this week on fiction hardcover lists from print publications, ranking #4 at Washington Post, #6 at New York Times and Publishers Weekly,#8 at San Francisco Chronicle, and #29 on the combined USA Today list.

Also debuting this week: Kelley Armstrong's Frostbitten (Bantam), latest in her "Women of the Otherworld" series, ranking #12 on the NYT list.

And Eoin Colfer's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series sequel And Another Thing... (UK: Michael Joseph) ranks on Amazon UK's list today at #6, #83 on the Amazon Canada list. It just went on sale this week; look for it on print bestseller lists in another week or two.
