Changes at Bloomsbury USA

Cindy Loh has been promoted to the newly created role of vice-president and director of consumer publishing at Bloomsbury USA following the company’s decision to divide its worldwide business into consumer and non-consumer divisions. She has been the director of children’s publishing at Bloomsbury since 2012, following two years at Sterling and senior editorial experience at Scholastic, Simon & Schuster, and HarperCollins. Loh will now oversee adult and children’s publishing in the US.

Current adult publishing director George Gibson will leave Bloomsbury after Thanksgiving. He has been with the company for 23 years. The company will add a new editorial director for fiction, and executive director Richard Charkin will act as president of Bloomsbury USA during these transitions.
