Almond Wins Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize

David Almond has won the 2015 Guardian children’s fiction prize for A Song for Ella Grey (Delacorte). Running for almost 50 years, the award comes with a £1,500 cash prize. The award is “the only children’s book prize judged by authors” and is accompanied by the young critics competition, where “ten children and teens and one school won prizes for 500-word reviews of the books longlisted for the prize.”
