Uehashi and Mello Win Andersen Awards

Japanese author Nahoko Uehashi has won the 2014 Hans Christian Andersen Author Award, and Brazilian artist Roger Mello has won the 2014 Hans Christian Andersen Illustrator Award. The medals and diplomas will be presented to Uehashi and Mello on September 10, 2014 in Mexico City during the 34th International IBBY Congress. The award is Denmark’s top literary honor for authors and illustrators of children’s literature.
