    I am slightly embarrassed about cutting Graham off with a pedantic correction about which series Terry nation was writing for, thus obscuring Graham’s wider point, that (contrary to what is sometimes believed) Nation had an established pedigree in writing sf for television before he wrote for Doctor Who.
