Management Change at Hachette

Hachette Livre Chairman Arnaud Nourry announced Monday that David Young will leave his position as CEO of Hachette Book Group to return to the UK to spend more time with his family. He will step down as CEO on April 1, 2013, but will remain chairman of HBG and will travel to the US regularly. In the UK he will take on the role of deputy chief executive of Hachette UK and CEO of the Orion Publishing Group, as Peter Roche is retiring from those positions in June 2013.

In the US, Young’s previous role will be filled by Michael Pietsch starting April 1, 2013. Pietsch is currently executive vice president of HBG and Publisher of Little, Brown. Ken Michaels is being promoted to president and chief operating officer of HBG.
