Spectrum Awards Winners
Winners and runners-up of the 13th annual Spectrum competition for fantastic art were determined in Kansas City, MO on the weekend March 3, 2006, from over 4000 works of science fiction and fantastic-themed art, by jurists Brom [artist], Bruce Jensen [artist], Christopher Klein [artist/art director National Geographic], Heidi MacDonald [journalist], Stephan Martiniere [artist], and Meg Walsh [artist]. The artists will receive a Spectrum Award sculpted by Joseph DeVito, which rests on a base sculpted by Tom Banwell with either a gold or silver engraved plate bearing the recipient's name.
All of the art selected by the judges will be included in Spectrum 13: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art, edited by Cathy and Arnie Fenner, to be published by Underwood Books in October, 2006.
