The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara: Antrax dominated the hardcover category; American Gods continues to make a good showing. Enchanter by Sara Douglass (Tor) was the new runner-up. We had 82 nominees, way up from 69 last month.

Dune: House Harkonnen had no close competition in the paperback category. New runner-up: The Plutonium Blonde by John Zakour & Lawrence Ganem (DAW). Nominees: 101, up from 99.

The Mists of Avalon continued to lead trade paperbacks for the seventh month straight, though the Tolkien titles are gaining on it. Cryptonomicon is back. Gumshoe Gorilla by Keith Hartman (Meisha Merlin) was the new runner-up. Nominees: 69, well up from 55 last month.

Star Trek: Gateways, Book Three: Doors into Chaos headed the media-related titles by a slim margin. Nominees: 29, down from 36.

Forgotten Realms: Temple Hill had a solid lead in the gaming-related category. Nominees: 29, up from 28.
