Shadow of the Hegemon and Colonization: Aftershocks dominated the hardcover category, with just one point separating them. The Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglass (Tor) was the new runner-up. We had 67 nominees, down substantially from last month's 85.
Ender's Shadow had no close competition for the number one paperback slot for the third month in a row, and The Mists of Avalon is still going strong. New runner-up: The Legend of Luke by Brian Jacques (Ace). Nominees: 104, the same as last month.
The Big U topped the trade paperback category, just ahead of The Hobbit. New runner-up: The Land of Laughs by Jonathan Carroll (Orb). Nominees: 60, down from 64.
Star Wars: Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter was the top media tie-in title out of 38 nominees, up from 28 last month.
DragonLance: Dragons of a Fallen Sun was the strong favorite among the 28 gaming-related nominees, the same number as last month.
